Dr. Brenda Williams earned her B.S. and M.S. in Psychology from Nova Southeastern University and holds a Ph.D. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. She specializes in providing supervised treatment to severe and persistent, chronically mentally ill individuals involved in the criminal justice system. She believes that therapy is a collaborative process and guides clients to increase self-awareness, gain new perspectives, decrease symptoms, and increase personal strengths to have a more meaningful life experience. Today, with Dr. Williams vast array of clinical experience, she works with clients who are transitioning from a facility or penal institution to an independent, less restrictive environment, facilitating to achieve control over their mental illness and co-occurring disorders.
Dr. Williams strengths is based on encompassing mindfulness, self-compassion, and evidence-based cognitive approach. Her areas of interest are life transitions, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
